For an on-line timer, what is wrong with the Slipdial status window? I
always have it open while on-line to keep tabs on time.
So far as costs are concerned the trouble with freecost is that it uses the
Slipdial log file to work out the costs from, and that is not accurate. It
appears to start from when the connection is established rather than when
the modem answers. This may be fine for checking charges from ISPs who
charge for on-line time, but it only gives an approximation to telephone
charges which start from the modem answering.
